Women's day 2025 : 268 Loin Designs in Competition
The Ministry of Women's Empowerment and Family organized a meeting on September 24, 2024, in Yaoundé to shortlist designs for the 8 March 2025 symbolic fabric. . This event was attended by the selection committee, representatives from CICAM, social partners, and civil society.
Cameroon is preparing for the 40th International Women's Day. To celebrate, an art contest was launched to create the symbolic loin’s design. Young artists submitted 268 proposals; 10 will be selected, and one design will be chosen.
Launched on June 24, this contest aims to encourage young Cameroonians' creativity and promote Cameroonian women.
The selection committee seeks creativity, reflecting Cameroonian women's values and challenges in promoting peace, unity, and female empowerment.
According to Martine Ongola, Vice-President of the Selection Committee, « The 8 March fabric is of interest to all Cameroonians. Choosing it requires a participatory process involving all stakeholders »
